JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 – Knowing the exam pattern is crucial for candidates and students appearing for the IIT JEE exam.
TA has released the new JEE Main 2021 exam pattern for B. Tech, B. Arch and B. Planning papers.
Exam pattern of JEE Main 2021 is divided into JEE Paper 1 pattern for B. Tech and JEE Paper 2 pattern for B. Arch and B. Planning.
Candidates who closely observe and follow the exam pattern will not only be able to prepare a successful study plan but they can ultimately perform well and achieve a better result in the exam.
From 2019 onwards, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been granted the authority to design and develop the JEE Main syllabus as well as set the exam pattern.
They are as follows.
- As per the latest JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, paper 1 will have a total of 90 questions, 25 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Candidates have to attempt only 75 questions.
- Each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 numerical questions. 5 out of 10 numerical questions are optional.
- Numerical questions do not have negative marking.
- JEE Main 2021 for paper 1 (B. Tech) will be conducted for 300 marks, while paper 2 (B. Arch/B. Plan) will be conducted separately for 400 marks each.
- Now, JEE Main 2021 will be held in 13 regional languages

Highlights of JEE Main Exam Pattern
JEE Main mainly consists of two papers and is usually conducted in two sessions in the month of January and April and in two shifts – morning and evening.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020 Detailed Description
- The JEE Main 2020 exam pattern indicates how the exam will be conducted and how the JEE Main question paper will be set.
- In JEE Main the exam is held in two sessions. The first session of the exam is conducted in the month of January while the second session is held in the month of April.
- Notifications and circulars about the exam are usually released on the official website and candidates should keep a close eye on the updates and refer them to know the latest details about the exam.
