NEET PG Exam Eligibility & Pattern 2013
The common entrance test (CET) for admission to Medical Post-graduate Courses across the country i.e.. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Medical Postgraduate Courses-MD/MS/Diploma (NEET-PG) shall be held in Jan-Feb 2012 for admissions in the academic year 2012 − 2013. This entrance test is common for all students aspiring to take admission in medical field.
Eligibility for NEET-PG
Only those candidates who have completed internship or those who are expecting to complete it by March 31, 2012 are eligible to take the examination. The number of students expected to take the test will be ranging from around 100, 000 to 1, 50, 000 candidates. The exact number will be on board by August 2011 and applications for the same will be collected by September end. The admit cards for the test will be dispatched by middle of November 2011.
Pattern of NEET-PG
The examination will be online type test consisting of 180 multiple choice questions. The questions will be of MBBS standard. The time duration would be 3 hours.
Syllabus for NEET-PG
The syllabus is that of MBBS described in the MCI Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997. The multiple choice questions (MCQs) in the test paper will be based on the MBBS curriculum as well the knowledge that is expected to be acquired by the candidates during internship phase. The distribution of questions, model questions and method of tie breaking for ranking and other such criteria will be placed on the website in some period of time well before the test.
Notification and Applications for NEET-PG
MCI (Medical Council of India) will notify about the NEET-PG Exam in August 2011 on their website at MCI Website. MCI will collect the applications for NEET-PG by September end.
