CBSE to Conduct NEET-Exam on 7th May in 80 Cities (Download PDF)

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG), 2017 on 7th May in 80 cities. This Exam CBSE conduct as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (amended in 2016) and the Dentists Act, 1948 (also amended in 2016).

Key Details:

  • NEET exam is held for providing admissions in MBBS/BDS courses offered by all government and private medical colleges in our country.
  • It is a one tier exam and take one time in a year in month of May.
  • MBBS/BDS of any medical/dental colleges all seat will be filled by the score of NEET examination only.
  • Candidates submit the online application for a month from January 31 to March 1.
  • NEET was made mandatory for admission in all medical and dental colleges in previous year,
  • In this year, authorities have introduced limits to:

    • Number of times candidates can attempt the paper
    • Age of the candidates
  • Now, applicants can only sit for the exam thrice and cannot be older than 25 years (For reserved category 30 years).

About NEET:

  • National Eligibility Entrance Test is an entrance examination in India.
  • NEET exam will be conducted for the students who want to study in MBBS, BDS or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in government or private medical colleges in India.
  • It will be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • In 2013, this exam was declared illegal and unconstitutional by Supreme Court of India. But NEET was restored on April 11 2016.
