NISER is an educational institution imparting high-quality science education as well as focusing on research development in the country. This institution was established by the Department of Atomic Energy with an aim to become a hub for education of basic sciences and allied subjects. NISER offers a 5 year integrated MSc programme in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical sciences. At present, the campus of NISER is Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, which includes an excellent library. Degrees at NISER will be awarded by the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed-to-be University within the Department of Atomic Energy.

Starting 2014, Integrated Science Education and Research Center (ISERC), Visva Bharati will also admit students based on NEST scores for integrated MSc Programs.
