NID Exam Pattern 2018

NID exam will be conducted in three levels.

  • DAT

  • Studio Test

  • Personal Interview

Candidates who are qualified in the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) are expected to appear for a Studio Test and interview round.

Based on their performance in these rounds candidates will selected in design programmes offered at NID’s main campus at Ahmedabad, PG campus at Gandhinagar as well as R & D campus at Bengaluru.

NID DAT

  • Exam Name: Design Aptitude Test

  • Question Pattern: Both objective and subjective questions

  • Duration: 3 hour

  • Total weight: 100 marks

  • Medium of instruction: English

DAT will have two sections: Section A and Section B

  • Section A: Multiple Choice type questions and its weightage will be 70 marks.

  • Section B: Subjective type questions and weightage of this section will be 30 marks.

Marking System:

The Multiple choice objective type question will carry 0.5 marks to 4 marks. Each.

There will be no negative marking

NID Studio Test

For B.Des admissions

NID studio test admission of questions from different formats like hands – on Practical assignments etc.

  • Total Marks: 100 marks

  • Medium of instruction: English

NID Personal Interview:

For B.Des: Interview will be held separately for each specialization.

For M.Des: M.Des admission will be held separately for each discipline
