University Grants Commission (UGC) suspended engineering degrees granted by 4 deemed to be universities through distance mode. Move by the UGC comes following an order by the SC. Without the approval of AICTE, New courses will not start of Technical Education in university.

UGC Suspends Distance Engineering Degrees
  • Previously, this month restrained universities across India from continuing any distance learning courses from the 2018 - 19 without previous approval of the regulatory authorities.
  • CBI ordered inquiry into granting of retrospective approvals to 4 of them.
  • Suspended Engineering degrees conferred by the UGC.
  • Very difficult for those student who study in this university.

Four Suspended Universities

1- JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth

2- Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) , Rajasthan

3- Allahabad Agricultural Institute (AAI)

4- Vinayaka Mission՚s Research Foundation, Tamil Nadu.

Why UGC Suspended Their Engineering Degrees?

  • As per AICTE Regulations, deemed to be universities and the four varsities were not justified in introducing any engineering degrees.
  • All the degrees in Engineering given by concerned deemed to be universities stand suspended.
  • AICTE to hold tests for the students whose degrees would stand suspended on 15 January 2018
  • Then these students should given maximum 2 chances to clear the examination

  • Directed all varsities to celebrate 26th November as “Sanvidhan Divas” - commemorate the adoption of the country՚s Constitution.
  • Activities such reading out the Preamble to the Constitution during a morning assembly and reading out the fundamental duties are to be conducted
  • Every educational institution is to demonstrate importance of fundamental duties & put up information of fundamental duties on notice board.
