NTSE Stage 2 to be Held on 8th May 2016

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is conducted to identify talent of students studying in Class X. The examination is conducted every year at two levels: Stage-I (Stage Level) and Stage-II (National Level) .

NTSE Scholarship 2016

  • Scholarships are awarded for difference stages of education as follows:
  • Scholarship of ₹ 1250⟋- per month for Class-XI to XII
  • Scholarships of ₹ 2000⟋- per month for Undergraduates and Postgraduates
  • Amount of Scholarship for PhD be fixed in accordance with the UGC standards
  • 15% scholarships will be reserved for SC category students.
  • 7.5% scholarships for ST category students.
  • 3% for Physically Challenged group of students.

NTSE 2016 Eligibility Criteria

  • Every students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage-I examination, conducted by the States⟋UTs, in which the schools are located.
  • Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for scholarship, provided the student is below the age 18 years.

Selection Process for NTSE scholarship 2016:

  • Stage-I, selection will be done by States⟋UTs.
  • And candidates who qualify Stage-I will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT.

Important Dates for NTSE 2016:

Stage-I (State)

  • Last Date for Submission of Application Form: be notified by the respective State and it may vary from state to state
  • Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands: 07th November, 2015 (Saturday)
  • Examination in All other States and Union Territories: 08th November, 2015

Stage-II (National)

  • Examination in All States and Union Territories: 08th May, 2016 (Sunday)

Exam Pattern for NTSE 2016:

Stage-I: The State⟋UT level examination will include:

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT)
  • Language Test (LT)
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Stage-II Pattern: The examination will include:

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT) : 50 questions to be done in 45 minutes.
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) : includs Language Comprehensive Test (English Language) having 40 questions to be done 45 minutes

Aptitude Test: 90 questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science and Economics of classes IX and X level to be done 90 minutes
