National Science Olympiad (NSO) is aimed to search and encourage talent of students in science. Students of class 2 to 12 from across India and abroad can appear for this examination. NSO is conducted in two levels.

Key Details:

  • NSO organized every year to motivate students to try for better and deeper understanding of scientific facts and data
  • Increase their reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF).
  • All school students from class 1st onwards are invited to participate.
  • NSO Level 1:

    • Exam Date: 9th and 23rd November 2017
    • Venue: participating schools
    • Medium of the test: English
    • Written objective-type test of 60 minutes duration
    • Class 2 to class 4: 35 objective-type questions
    • Class 5 to class 12: 50 objective-type questions
    • The question paper consists of:

      • Logical Reasoning
      • Science
      • Achievers Section
  • NSO Level 2:

    • Exams are conducted off-line
    • No Level 2 exams will be for class 2 students

About Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF):

SOF is a nonprofit organisation established by leading academicians, scientists and media personalities. The Science Olympiad is conducted on two dates in school. There will be separate question paper for different dates.
