The Philosophy Syllabus for Chhattisgarh State Civil Services Preliminary Exam-2011 is given below. The examination will be held on 6 May 2012 (Sunday) by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission. Acquaint yourself with the break-up of Philosophy syllabus into various sections.
Paper-I
Candidates will be expected to be familiar with the following Western and Indian theories of Eqistemology and Ontology-
- Western-Empiricism, Rationalism, Critical philosophy, Materialism, Idealism, Realism, Pragmatism, Logical positivism and Existentialism.
- Indian: Prama and pramanas. Theories of truth and error, Theories of Reality with special reference to main systems (orthodox and heterodox) of Indian Philosophy
Paper-II
Socio-Political Philoscophy and philosophy of Religion.
- Nature of Phillosophy, its relation with life, science and culture.
- Democracy, Socialism. Fascism, Communism and Sarvodaya. Methods and aspects of political action-Constitutionism, Revolution, Terrorism and Satyagrah.
- Tradition, Change and modernity (with special reference to Indian social order)
- Natural land scope of philoscophy of religion. Nature of God and proofs of God՚s existence. Nautre of religious experience; reason, revelation and mysticism.
- Problem of evil and sin. Bondage and Liberation (Moksa) and paths for the realisation of Liberation. Unity, and universality of religions: Religious tolerance and secularism.
