- Sedentary Life: Farming & Herding
Customs & Practices
- Lived in groups as Tribes – had leaders
- Women: Agricultural work - prepare ground, sow seeds etc. ; thresh, husk, and grind grain
- Children: Look after plants, drive away animals.
- Men: Led large herds of animals in search of pasture.
- Children: Led small flocks
- Men & Women: Cleaning of animals and milking, making pots, baskets, tools and huts
Mehrgarh
- Near Bolan pass in Iran
- Learnt to grew barley & wheat & rear sheep and goat for 1st time in this area
- Bones of deer, pig, sheep, goat & cattle
- Square & rectangular houses – 4 or more compartments & storage
- Believed in life after death – burial sites – buried with animals
