Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL), 2017 (Tier-1) from 1st to 20th August, 2017. This exam will be conducted for selecting candidates for Tier-II examination for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/Departments/Organisation.

  • Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere in our country.
  • All the post carry All India Service Liability (AISL).
  • Mode of payment: Only online applications will be accepted
  • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance
  • Closing Date of application: 16, June, 2017
  • Only one online application is allowed to be submitted by a candidate for CGL examination – 2017.
  • This Exam is conducted every year.
  • Time Duration of Tier-1 Exam is reduced from 75 minutes to 60 minutes only (100 Questions/200 Marks)

A Central civil post carrying the following grade pay: - Rs. 5400, Rs. 4800, Rs. 4600 and Rs. 4200 in the scale of pay of Rs. 9300 - 34800 in the Pay Band-2

Group -B

A Central Civil post carrying the following grade pay: - Rs. 2800, Rs. 5200 - 20200 in the Pay Band-1

Application Fees:

  • Application Fees: Rs. 100
  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex - Servicemen (eligible for reservation) are exempted from paying application fee as per existing Government Orders.

Scheme for CGL Examination:

The examination wil be conducted in four tiers:

  • Tier 1: Computer Based
  • Tier 2: Computer Based
  • Tier 3: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
  • Tier 4: Computer Proficiency Test/Skill Test (wherever applicable) /Document Verification
