Constant Motivation is the key to success: Motivation is a great inducing force and is more of psychology than guidance. If you want to get the CGL jobs, be constantly motivated. Remember the prestige, security, benefits, peace, etc. Associated with the government job to keep yourself motivated. Self motivation is very necessary.
General Intelligence: General Intelligence section is also known as the reasoning section, it is a tough section and needs mental alertness while answering this section. It has different topics such as analogy, syllogism, coding & decoding, classification and so on. The candidates who appear for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10 + 2) Examination should have great logical skill so that they can do well in SSC and be aware of the type of questions and do the reasoning well with logic. Practice model test papers and also should go through the previous year exam papers for better reference.
English language: English language section is completely based on grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension and requires good command over English language. The questions include fill in the blanks, synonyms, active or passive voice, comprehension passage and so on. A good vocabulary is required to perform well. Read story books, newspapers and various magazines to enhance your language part.
Quantitative Aptitude: Quantitative Aptitude section is a mathematical section where candidates face questions regarding arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry and statistics, practice the model question papers everyday, solve previous year question papers to enhance knowledge, accuracy and power of calculations. To get success in this section, candidates should work on their speed.
General Awareness: This section has two parts-general knowledge and current affairs. Read daily newspapers and keep a track on the day to day whereabouts to know about the latest updations and happenings in India. General Awareness is one of the most scoring section that can be easily concluded with a bit of knowledge and good level of intelligence. Questions are formed to test the knowledge of a candidate on the current happenings that are happening around. GK includes History, Culture, Geography, General policy etc.
It is worth noting that the examination carries negative marking for each incorrect answer, so candidates must be very careful while answering the questions.
Following mentioned are some of the most crucial tips regarding time management during examination-
- Reach the destination on time: For all the candidates, it is very essential to reach the examination center venue before time. Try reaching the center 30 minutes before examination. If possible, visit the examination venue a day before the examination also. This will help them to have an idea about how much time will it take for the candidate to reach the examination center.
- Carry all the important documents with you: Pack the bag a day before with all the necessary things and important documents like the call letter, valid id proof such as Voter ID, Passport or PAN Card. Having a valid ID helps you to have identification and you stay away from all the occurring problems.
- Solve the easy and known questions first: Keep a check on the time limitation to solve the questions. Solve the easy and known questions first. This will help to save time for the other questions that you are not much sure about and will keep you motivated. Finish all the questions that appear easy to you and then go to those questions which you think will consume more time.
- Revise the answer-sheet: Finish the question paper around 15 minutes before, and use this time further to revise the answer sheet before finally submitting it. Check and go through all the answered questions. If anything wrong, change it as negative marking is applied in SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (10 + 2) Exam for all the incorrect answers.
