Introduction
The Austrian Government Scholarship is for those candidates who are interested from the External Scholarships Division of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Govt. Of India. This Department excellence in arranging for a huge number of international scholarships to Indian students from foreign governments.
The Austrian Government Scholarships are offered for the following which are quoted below:
- Tourism Management
- Research in Archaeology, Austrian Literature, History, Philosophy and Theology
- Minerology i.e. … Mineral Exploration, Petroleum Technology etc.
Eligibility
The following are the eligibility requirements:
Tourism Management
- Candidate՚s age should be between 22 and 30 years.
- Candidate should have a Bachelor՚s degree with a minimum of 55% marks and should have completed a 1 year Diploma in Tourism.
- The candidate should have a field experience in Tourism which he/she should have done after having acquired a bachelor՚s degree in Tourism.
- Also, the candidate should has an expertise in written and spoken English and should have a fair degree of awareness about Austria.
- The candidate would have to reside in India for 3 years at a stretch after his return from abroad.
- Candidates who are living outside the country at the time of making the application are not eligible for the scholarship.
Research Subjects
- Candidate՚s age should be between 21 and 35 years.
- Candidate should have a Master՚s degree in the desired subject with a minimum of 60% marks.
- The candidate should have 2 uninterrupted years of experience in teaching or research which he/she should have acquired after having acquired the required qualification.
- A. M. Phil degree is considered as one years teaching experience.
- Also, the candidate should has an expertise in written and spoken English and should have a fair degree of awareness about Austria.
- The candidate would have to reside in India for 3 years at a stretch after his return from abroad.
- Candidates who are living outside the country at the time of making the application are not eligible for the scholarship.
Minerology
- Candidate՚s age should be between 20 and 35 years.
- Candidate should be employed in Minerology/Petroleum Technology.
- Candidate should have a MSc in the relevant subject and should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks.
- The candidate should have 2 uninterrupted years of experience in teaching or research which he/she should have acquired after having acquired the required qualification
- Also, the candidate should have sufficient knowledge of German language.
- The candidate should have applied for research in that subject in which he has done his post-graduation studies.
Duration
The duration of the scholarships are quoted below:
- Research in Archaeology, Austrian Literature, History, Philosophy and Theology 9 months
- Minerology-9 months
- Tourism Management Short Term
Value of Scholarship
- Tourism Management: The scholarships include registration fees, expenses incurred for medical inspection, tuition fees, food and beverage expenses, rent for accommodation, health insurance, excursion allowance and expenses incurred for the final examination. The passage fare to Austria and back is required to be paid either by the employer or the candidate or the sponsors.
- Research Subjects: The scholarship covers a grant of Austrian Schillings of 6,800 and a book allowance of Austrian Schillings of 1,000 each semester
- Minerology: The scholarship covers a grant of Austrian Schillings 6,800 per month for post graduate students and a grant of Austrian Schillings 8,000 per month for Assistant Professors. The allowances also include health insurance, university fees, cost of books and rent for accommodation. The financial aid is for one person and no allowances are given for the spouse or relatives.
Application Procedure
- Tourism Management: Application on plain paper i.e. … In duplicate with an employer՚s referral should be sent within the fixed date.
- Research Subjects: Applications with two letters of referral from Professors of University/College attended along with attested copies of educational documents should be sent within the specified date. Candidates who are already in employment should send their applications through their employers
- Minerology: Applications in duplicate through the employer should be sent within the fixed date, accompanied by a no-objection certificate and guarantee of re-employment, Two letters of referral, attested copies of all educational documents, Secondary School Certificate duly translated in German.
