The ONGC Scholarships for SC/ST students were instituted by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, an Indian public sector behemoth specializing in manufacture, drilling and supply of oil and natural gas. In a recent survey done by ‘Global Finance’ USA, ONGC has been awarded as the best oil and gas company in the continent of Asia. ONGC has taken path breaking initiatives in the field of community development, safety, health and environment. Incase of the educational field, which forms a crucial part of community development, the scholarships for higher education of students belonging to scheduled castes as well as scheduled tribes is one such initiative.

Eligibility Criteria

The ONGC Scholarships for students belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes categories have the criteria for eligibility stated below:

  • Applicant should either be enrolled in the first year of a graduation course in engineering or post graduation course in Geology or Geophysics.
  • Applicants must have a master՚s degree in business administration i.e.. . MBA and presently enrolled in any of the Iit՚s or an Indian university or a recognised institute.
  • Applicant should not have an Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of less than 6 in a scale of 10. For students of Engineering, they will examine on the basis of their performance in class 12 examination and for post graduation students in Geology or Geophysics or Business Administration the evaluation is done on the basis of their performance in graduation
  • Yearly income of the parents of these applicants should not be more than ₹ 1.5 lacs.

Application Procedure

Duly filled in applications bearing certification from the Head of the Institution should be forwarded through the office of the Head of the Institution to:

Along with the Application Form the Applicants Are Also Required to Send

  • Recent passport size photograph.
  • Copy of Mark Sheet.
  • Certificate substantiating that the applicant belongs to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.
