Benefits of Institutions of Eminence

  • An additional funding of Rs 1000Cr is to be provided to the Government institutions.

  • The institutions selected under IoE shall have complete academic, administrative and financial autonomy.

  • Academic collaborations with foreign higher educational institutions (in top 500) would be exempted from government approvals.

  • The institutions would have own transparent merit based system for admission of students.

  • The Curriculum and Syllabus will be fixed with no UGC mandated curriculum structure.

  • The Institutes will have Freedom to offer online courses as part of their programs along with the restriction that that not more than 20% of the Programme should be in online mode.

  • The UGC Inspection shall not apply to Institutions of Eminence.
