National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT)

  • The scheme aims to use Artificial Intelligence to make learning more personalized and customized as per the requirements of the learner.
  • MHRD aims to recognize the development of technologies in Adaptive Learning
  • Create a National Alliance with such technology developing EdTech Companies through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
  • MHRD would act as a facilitator to ensure that the Adaptive Learning Solutions are freely available to a large number of economically backward students.
  • All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) would be the implementing agency for the NEAT programme.
  • It would help to certify maximum students with highly marketable skills and would also improve the employability of students.
  • Aimed to improve learning outcomes in higher education
  • As their contribution towards the National cause, they would have to offer free coupons to the extent of 25 % of the total registrations for their solution through NEAT portal.
  • MHRD would distribute free coupons for learning to the most socially/economically backward students.

National Initiative for School Heads Teachers Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA)

The Department of School Education and Literacy has launched a National Mission to improve learning outcomes at the elementary level through an Integrated Teacher Training Programme called NISHTHA under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Samagra Shiksha in 2109 - 20.

Encourage and Foster Critical Thinking Among Students

  • skills on various aspects related to inclusive education, competency-based learning and testing, learning outcomes, learner-centered pedagogy, ICT in teaching-learning including Artificial Intelligence, pre-school, pre-vocational education and school-based assessment.
  • To boost the same, a Mobile App and Learning Management System (LMS) based on MOODLE (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) have been developed by NCERT.
  • Expected to be aware of the provisions regarding Gender, The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
  • seeks to train all heads and teachers as first-level counselors so that they can be alert and responsive to the needs of the students.

VAJRA (Visiting Joint Advanced Research)

  • Which enables NRIs and overseas scientific community to participate and contribute to research and development in India.
  • The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) , a Statutory body of the Department will implement the Scheme.
  • VAJRA faculty will undertake research in S&T priority areas of nation wherein the capability and capacity are needed to be developed. The VAJRA faculty will engage in collaborative research in public funded institutions.
  • The residency period of the VAJRA Faculty in India would be for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months a year.
  • The VAJRA Faculty is provided a lump-sum amount of US $ 15000 in the first month of residency in a year and US $ 10000 p. m. in the other two months to cover their travel and honorarium. While no separate support is provided for e. g. accommodation, medical/personal insurance etc. the host institute may consider providing additional support.
  • The Indian collaborator and the overseas faculty will jointly frame a research plan and the application duly endorsed by the Head of the Institution will be submitted online by the Indian collaborator.
  • A Selection Committee of eminent scientists will evaluate the applications. The Committee will meet twice a year in January and July and make recommendations
  • there are about 7 Lakh Indian students/pursuing academic programs abroad.


  • The programmes will cover Science and Performing Arts and will have 30 students from each area. The students will be from class 9 to 12 coming from private and public schools. The programmes which will continue for 14 days will be conducted with the 60 students
  • The initiative is called DHRUV after the ‘Pole Star’ while each student will be called DHRUVTARA.
  • The first batch of this innovative scheme will consist of students who are talented in areas from singing and dancing to mathematics and physics. The students are being selected on the bases of their performance in the National Talent Search Examinations, competitions etc. and once these students are selected the ministry will conduct sessions to get these children mentored in their chosen fields.
  • Speaking about the programme Union HRD Minister said that the students will be mentored and nurtures by the experts from the different areas at the center of excellence across the country to make them reach their full potential
  • The Pradhan Mantri Innovative Learning Programme: DHRUV has been started by Government of India to identify and encourage talented children to enrich their skills and knowledge. In centers of excellence across the country, gifted children will be mentored and nurtured by renowned experts in different areas, so that they can reach their full potential.
