The National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), now known as the National Staff College came into existence in the year 1960 − 61 due to UNESCO's provision and determination to initiate a center for educational planning and administration in every region of South Asia. India received NUEPA as a result of this decision by UNESCO but then later in 1970, it came under the control of Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India, thereby getting its new name. However now its a totally autonomous body and is also a Deemed University, a status conferred by Ministry of Human Resources and Development in August 2006, for its extra-ordinary contribution in the field of planning, management and capacity building.

Prof Ved Prakash holds the post of Vice-Chancellor in the institute presently.

Eligibility Parameters

For regular M. Phil/Ph. d:

  • Admission to Ph. d course is granted to post gradates with subjects Education, Social Sciences, Commerce, Sciences, Management/Allied with minimum 55% marks.
  • Also postgraduates awaiting for impending results can apply submitting their provisional certificates in the institute.
  • Admission procedure and final admission is usually carried in the end of July month.
