Established in the year 1967, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College was named after Sheheed-e-Azam-Sardar Bhagat Singh. This college was established as a constituent college of Delhi University. Postgraduate status was conferred on the college in as early as 9 years.

Admission Procedures at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College

The preliminary admission forms for different courses are available from the College Office according to the dates mentioned in University schedule. Incomplete forms are considered rejected.

  1. All admissions except MCom are for which the candidates require to have a cut-off percentage for admission. Admission in MCom is directly granted by the Delhi University.

  2. Finalised list of selected students is put on the College Notice Board.

  3. No direct communication by any means to individual applicants is entertained. Applicants are required to keep a watch on admission list by themselves.

  4. Admission is based on merit cum-interview basis, which is decided by the Admission Committee.

  5. Interested students have to buy the College Prospectus and Application Form from the college office.

  6. Eligible students are required to present themselves before the Admission Committee with the duly filled in and signed Admission Form.

  7. During interview, original documents along with photocopies and 2 stamp-sized photos are to be submitted.


2 monthly scholorships of Rs. 20 is offered by the Soumitra Chakaravarty Memorial Scholarships to the B. Com (Hons.) students of 1st and 2nd years every year.

Central Students Council 1976 − 77 Scholarships: Total 7 scholarships are offered to the students and staff for voluntary fund raising which is given to them based on academic merit in the examinations conducted by the university in the following subjects: The scholarships is of Rs. 40 monthly.

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Scholarships

Post-Metric scholarships are offered to the eligible SC/ST students on submission of the required proofs like:

  1. Scheduled Caste/Tribe Certificate

  2. Salary/Income Certificate

  3. Copies of the marks sheet, provisional certificate, and character certificate.

All India Entrance Scholarships

There are 50 All India Entrance Scholarships of Rs. 250 value per month, tenable for three years for Honours Degree course in this University.
